The survey results are in. Thank you for helping out with submitting your biggest questions about your Search Engine Optimization for REALTORS® and small business owners.

As I am putting together Fast Track SEO for you I wanted to make sure that ALL your important questions get answered.

In case you did not get to submit your question there are still a few more days for you to do so. But wait until you finish reading this blog post. There are important SEO lessons in this post.

Go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FastTrackSEO

And submit the one big question you want me to answer for your SEO and online marketing.

The most asked question in the survey is:

What is the best way to beat ZTR? ( Those are initials for the top websites that show up for many real estate terms). We don't spell those names out because that only adds more authority to them. I think you can figure out who those are.

We will be covering this topic in depth in #FastTrackSEO.

This has become a thorn in our sides however we can come up with creative solutions to solve this problem.

I like to call this “Learning how to fly under the radar of the ZTR”.

The best and fastest way for you to compete with these sites for placement on page one of the search engines like Google is to find long-tail keywords that they are not ranking well for.

By default they will rank for anything that is real estate specific whether they have the content or not, whether they are optimized or not for those keywords.

Don't be afraid when you see them on page one for your keywords.

Real Estate SEO longtail keyword fast track seo best practices

If you are going after long-tail keywords in niches that are difficult for a big company to rank for you will be able to take over their spots on page one.

Even though some of these companies pay hundreds of thousands of dollars each month on Google adwords campaigns and on SEO services- they will not be able to cover every single niche in real estate.

If you don't know what a long-tail keyword is don't worry- I will explain all about it in a way that you can understand during the course.

But the short definition is:

A long-tail keyword is a search phrase that is not the typical general term that a searcher types into the Google search field.

The opposite of a long-tail keyword is a short-tail keyword.

A short-tail keyword is a search phrase like: Florida Real Estate.

The big companies rank for that term and we say: let them!  Florida real estate is actually a terrible keyword phrase. It is considered short-tail because it has a lot of people searching with that term.

Let's look at some facts:

  • Florida is a huge state! It takes 5 hours to drive from Key West to Wellington and then another nearly 6 hours to drive from here to Tallahassee = total to drive from end of the state to another is 11 hours.
  • Someone searching for Florida Real Estate has NO idea where in Florida they want to live. Are you really going to drive across the state to show property? I highly doubt that is a wise investment of your time.
  • You really don't have the funds to invest to dominate for this term, nor should you want to. It is NOT the highest and best use of your time or your money.

We go back to what I have been teaching for many years now ~ specialists make more money than generalists. Being a generalist on the internet is a recipe for failure. You can not compete on that level nor do you want to. We will be going over some case studies to show you why you don't want to go general online. Well, actually you should not be a generalist off line either:).

Put your creative hat on. Think about your target market. Think about your avatar and really get into the mind and soul of your ideal client or customer.

Drill down into lifestyles. It is very difficult for the big guys to dominate in lifestyle niches. This is where I see agents, entrepreneurs, small business owners, mortgage brokers and professionals have the most success.

So a long-tail keyword is going to be more like this one:

St Augustine Historic Homes for sale

Z does not even have the top spot on page one for that term. You can kick them to the side of the road with good proper SEO and great detailed content. The content for this keyword is endless and it is exciting. If you have the passion for historic homes, you will be blessed with not just customers but also the ability to position yourself as the expert in historic homes. The possibilities are endless.

What are you waiting for?

There are a lot of interesting facts about historic homes and keywords surrounding that phrase that the big guys just will not compete for. If they dominate for these terms as you keep drilling deep into your ideal customer's searches the harder it will be for them to keep the top spaces for those terms. This is because they are not trying to dominate for those terms. They are not optimized for those terms but no one else is either. So Google puts the next best thing, them, up there because that is who Google trusts with authority over anything real estate related.

This is great for us. Great for you!

All you need to do is apply good SEO best practices on your posts, pages and off your website too!

Before FastTrackSEO starts we are going to break this down into two categories:

1. Your listings- listing syndication done correctly will help you get your listing addresses on page one.

2. Your long-tail Keywords- drill down into very specific niches. I will explain why this works and show you how you can do this too.

I am creating 3 free training videos for you to learn from before Fast Track SEO starts up. I will show you how to do your longtail keyword structuring and how to get your listing addresses to show up on page one and why you want to do this.

These sessions are very important for your online marketing to succeed. You will want to make sure that you watch each of these free training videos.

After you watch the 3 training videos I will open up the shopping cart so that you can be one of the first 50 people to sign up for the course. The course is only open to 200 people for our live webinar sessions and Q & A sessions. It is important to watch your email inbox for these announcements later on this month.

Make sure that you have signed up on our Early Bird Notification list in order to get these training videos sent to your email inbox.

The first 100 people who sign up for the course will be placed in a drawing to win a one hour strategy session with me. One person will win that drawing.

The course- #FastTrackSEO –  (as long as I don't have any emergencies) will start on Monday June 1, 2015. All live sessions will be recorded as long as there are no technological glitches during the recordings. If that happens, then I will re-record the session without the live audience. So no matter what happens, you will get the recordings in case you are showing a house or getting a listing and can not make all the live sessions.

See you at the top! I know you can do this!
