SEO is Back with a Vengeance!

SEO is back with a vengeance! We are seeing some amazing results on page one and page 2 with brand new websites and blog content.

Then I went back to older sites to see how they are doing and they also are showing up on page one.

Google made what most would think is an insignificant change not in their algorithm ( although Google is always updating their algorithm) but rather in the application of serving up the algorithm.

This little seemingly insignificant shift appears to be favoring those of us who are not huge brand names.

Before Google invented their zoo of animals, panda, penguin, pigeon- most of us were rocking it with our SEO. Then with the zoo animals being set loose to wreak their havoc a lot of people lost their income, their leads and their positions almost overnight. The winners through the zoo rotation were the big name brands.

The little guy, small business owners, real estate agents, dentists and marketers took a huge hit because even the past head huncho over at Google said they needed to clean up the ‘cesspool' on the internet and favor the big brands.

Over time the shift tended back again toward quality content and long form content. Then a very interesting shift happened that many people would not notice.

When I started the building the latest 3 websites for clients- we noticed there was a shift back to good content and keywords, so much so, that well, you will need to get on this Free webinar where I will show you what I am talking about and also tell you what we believe may be the reason we are getting these sudden boosts of page one rankings!

I ran a few tests on some brand new niche websites I am building for our real estate company and it held true again.

If you are in real estate- how would you like to rank ahead of Zillow?

If you are a dentist, how would you like to rank ahead of the big directories?

While Google favors big brands, I will show you what we see is happening where the small time brands are able to position themselves out in front!!!

I can’t wait to share what we are finding with you!!!

Google Sends Notices – Your Site is NOT Mobile Friendly

Google Webmaster Tools is sending out notices to let you know your website is not mobile-friendly.

They ask you in the notice to follow the steps to make sure your website is mobile-friendly.

If you do not make your website mobile-friendly Google will not have your website indexed for mobile search.

What that means is that you will still be on the search engine for your keywords when people search from their desktop computers but you will not be visible to those same people if they search on their smart phones or iPads.

Making your site mobile-friendly in most cases is very simple and you can do it yourself.

Don't get sucked into those companies that call you to charge you big bucks to make your website mobile-friendly.

If your site is hosted on WordPress, it is as simple as updating your theme. If you are using any of the WordPress themes that come with WordPress installations they are mobile friendly.

If you have purchased a theme from another company – they should have an update for you which makes the theme mobile-friendly.

Here is the link to the Google Developers guide on making your site mobile-friendly:

They have solutions for most kinds of websites: wordpress, joomla, etc.

After you complete the steps you can check your website at this URL to see if it passes the Google test for mobile-friendly:

ListHub Listing Agreement Ends With Zillow

ListHub Listing Agreement Ends With Zillow

The contract that Zillow has with ListHub expired on April 7, 2015.

ListHub has had a contract and provides the data to the big Z of all of our listings.

Move.inc who operates Realtor.com owns the listing syndicator, ListHub.

Move.inc was acquired by News Corp in December.

Right now the big Z gets a few hundred thousand listings out of the 3.6 million that are displayed on Z now.

They have been getting the listings fed to their site since 2011 through ListHub.

The contract is not going to be renewed. A spokesperson for Z said that they are going directly to the MLS participants and brokers to get the data feeds and they are building their own listing syndication tool. They plan to get more listings from our MLS providers.

ListHub Listing Agreement Ends With Zillow

Florida REALTORS magazine reports:

In a statement, Move Inc. said that “ListHub has been negotiating in good faith a new listing distributing and reporting agreement with Zillow on terms that reflect the best interests of the brokerage industry. As communicated in public announcements, Zillow decided to end those negotiations and announced the launch of their own platform. Zillow chose their own route for their business model and interests.”

Z does not see any issues with converting the data over to the Data Dashboard broker feeds since many of the listings that will get shut off are those in large urban sectors. The only ones that they think might not get pulled in are some rural areas.

You can see where each side stands. We have said in the past that the business model of z was to create their own model.  I think that many of the things that they “said” are going to be different than what they are going to end up doing. Something to think about…

I Just Created My New Logo for Speaking-Training-Consulting- Marketing- Blogging- Entrepreneurship!

This is a great logo for my speaking, training, consulting, coaching business. My colors are lavendar and black but with this logo I wanted to have a statement of richness, thus the gold.

The gold microphone symbolizes the profits in your business and in your life you get if you put into practice what I speak about or consult with you about.

The lavendar color signifies healing. It is a very healing color. This fits into who I am. I am a healer of businesses and lives. I strive to make a difference in the world by helping one business person at a time to reach their full potential and live with passion.

Altogether the colors symbolize the energy with which I speak and share of my expertise and experiences. I motivate the audience into action. I am passionate when I am speaking and that is very evident when you hear me speak. My new logo speaks to that.

I am very excited about redesigning my logo and the rest. Be patient, my website is a long work in progress:( but it is getting there.
